Christ's School Celebrates Record Number of Top GCSE Grades
There was joy and delight at Christ’s School this morning as students celebrated outstanding GCSE results. Despite the new tougher GCSE examinations, Christ’s School’s results continued their upward trajectory with over 31% of all entries at grade 9-7 (A*-A) and an incredible 17% achieving the top grades. There were particular successes in History, English, Mathematics and French.
We are particularly delighted with the outstanding results of Adam Rezzag-Salem, who was one of the few students in the country who achieved a clean sweep with 11 top 9 grades, Jack Woodward with 8 grade 9s, a grade 8 and a 7 and Leah Howard with 6 grade 9s, 3 8s and 2 7s. Commenting on his excellent results, Adam said “I’m delighted and surprised with my results. The excellent teaching at Christ’s enabled me to achieve these results”. Jack added “I’m really pleased with my results and can’t wait to get started in the Sixth Form at Christ’s”
Commenting on the results, Helen Dixon, Head Teacher at Christ's School said "I would like to congratulate all of our students on these fantastic results. I am delighted that our relentless drive for excellence is paying dividends. These results are a credit to our students’ hard work, the quality and commitment of all of our staff and the strong relationships that exist between the School and home".
These fantastic results come after yet another year of improved A level results with 21% of students achieving A*/A grades, 52% with A*-B grades and an overall pass rate of 100%. There was success across all subjects with History, Chemistry, French, Government and Politics and Maths performing particularly well.
