STUDENTS CELEBRATE A LEVEL SUCCESS

Img 8380After two very challenging and disrupted years there were celebrations and lots of smiles at Christ’s School, Richmond, as staff and students celebrated fantastic A Level results. Bucking the national trend, Christ’s achieved record results, including the number of students achieving the top A* and A grades which increased to our highest ever at 41%.

Two of those celebrating were Louis Barnes and Hope Coles who both received 3A*s and are off to Kings College, London to study Geography, and Leeds to study Law, respectively.

David Kerella and Sophie Benson were both thrilled to achieve their dream of studying Medicine with David heading to Imperial College and Sophie to Nottingham, whilst Jacob Cavendish, one of our very talented musicians, is off to the prestigious Royal College of Music.

Pourya Seif, Ishab Ahmed and Sylvie Woodward were all delighted with their 2A*s and 2 As with Pourya and Ishab both off to Kings College, to study Computer Science and Pourya to study Politics, Philosophy and Law, whilst Sylvie heads to Manchester to study History and Italian.

Commenting on the results, James Butler, Head of Sixth Form at Christ's said "I would like to congratulate all of our students. It has been a privilege to work with our leavers as they have worked through such a challenging and disrupted sixth form experience. We are thrilled that our students have received the recognition they deserve for all of their hard work. These results are fully earned and a credit to our students’, the quality and commitment of our staff, and the strong relationships that exist between our students, teachers, and the sixth form leadership team. Given the national picture, we are pleased that these results also validate the integrity of our Teachers Assessed Grades in 2021".

Helen Dixon, Headteacher at Christ’s School, applauded the efforts of the students, staff and Sixth Form team who have worked so hard to ensure this year’s success, “Today we have celebrated the outstanding achievements of our students. We are very proud of their tenacity, hard work and focus which, combined with the efforts of our fantastic teaching staff and Sixth Form leadership team, have delivered these fantastic results”.
