Y12 had their first full day of fieldwork up in the Welsh mountains yesterday, following the path of prehistoric glaciers from the highlands, to the beach lowlands. Day 2 at CERN did not disappoint! 🚀✨ ​Our tour guide was a brilliant engineer who spent 38 years designing particle accelerators at CERN. Safe to say, our students kept him busy with an endless stream of questions! 🧠💬 ​Highlights from today: ​The Antimatter Factory: We got up close with ELENA (Extra Low Energy Antiproton Ring), a fully functional particle decelerator. Yes, antimatter is real, and it’s mind-blowing. 🤯 ​The Data Centre: We stood in the birthplace of the World Wide Web! The students loved learning how it was originally created right here at CERN to help global scientists share data. 🌐 ​A Timeless Afternoon: After a quick refuel at the Big Bang Café, we shifted gears from physics to horology at the Patek Philippe Museum, checking out their incredible new "50 Years of Nautilus Watches" exhibition. ⏱️ ​An absolutely unforgettable day of science, history, and culture. #CERN #STEM #SixthForm #physics #Alevels

CERN Trip: Day 1! 🚀 Our students have officially arrived in Switzerland and had a fantastic first afternoon getting settled at the Geneva Hostel. Here’s a quick look at how we kicked off the trip: 🍕 Late Lunch: Fueled up with a delicious meal at a local Italian restaurant. 🌅 Scenic Walk: Strolled along beautiful Lake Geneva and explored the winding streets of the historic Old Town. 🧠 Rest & Prep: After dinner, students enjoyed some free time to relax and get a good night's sleep. Here are a few quick updates in effect from tomorrow until the end of next week: Blazers are Optional: Students are not required to wear their blazers to school or during the day. Stay Hydrated: Please remember to send your child to school with a refillable water bottle. ⚽️Huge congratulations to U13s Girls Tallulah R and Leila C for representing Richmond at the London Youth Games! The girls put on a fantastic display of talent and determination, making it all the way to the Plate Final of the competition, where they narrowly missed out on the top spot to a strong Kingston side. 🧁 Baking the World a Better Place! 🌍 The Amnesty Club officially hosted its very first event, and it was a massive success! We paired delicious sweet treats with a side of social justice at our Bake Sale & Petition Signing. Together, we raised our voices to demand better treatment and safer working conditions for Garment Workers worldwide. We also handed out leaflets to introduce students to the incredible, life-changing work Amnesty International does every single day. Missed it? Don't worry, we're just getting started.
