School Day

The school gates open at 8:00 a.m. each day. Students attending before-school clubs must press the buzzer to gain entry before this time. The school bell rings at 8:27 a.m., allowing students three minutes to get to their tutor rooms for morning PD time, during which the register is taken, uniform and equipment checks are carried out, and daily messages are shared. Period 1 begins immediately after. Any student arriving after 8:30 a.m. must sign in at Student Services. Reception is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. The school operates staggered finish times for each year group, and students receive a total of 27.5 hours of taught lessons each week.

It is expected that by applying to a church school, parents understand the school’s distinctive Christian character and recognise that Collective Worship is central to the life of the school. Parents and carers have the right to withdraw their child from Collective Worship, but it is hoped that parents do not choose to do so. If a parent or carer wishes for their child to be withdrawn from Collective Worship they should contact the Headteacher and a meeting will be arranged to discuss.
