Support our PTA - a letter from the Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for once again, making our annual community fireworks event, organised by the Parent Teachers Association (PTA), such a magnificent and enjoyable evening.  The PTA raised a substantial profit of £4,500. None of this would have been possible without the generous support of Christ’s parents and carers. A special thank you to those who helped organise, set up and run the event.

The PTA is an integral part of the school community. It has been a tremendous source of help and support to the school over the years, both in terms of fundraising and social activities, and assisting at school events and with various projects.  The money raised by the PTA has funded the landscaping project in the inner quad area of the school, creating a far more welcoming and comfortable area for our students to sit and socialise at break and lunch,  table tennis tables, drama equipment, library books and other sporting equipment enjoyed by all.

The PTA is grateful to all parent/carers who find time to help during their busy lives.  As you can appreciate however, the PTA needs a strong team of volunteers to commit to keep it functioning. For the past four years Jane Fitch has enjoyed being the PTA Chair, but Jane is now ready to hand this role over to someone who will bring fresh ideas and initiatives to the PTA.  The Chair role can be shared by two or more parent/carers and does not necessarily mean organising events, but does involve overseeing the PTA.  Jane will still be assisting the PTA, and the parents who organised the recent fireworks event are happy to do so again in 2017. If you feel that you may be able to take the lead, or would simply like to learn more about the PTA, please contact Jane on janeefitch1@gmail.com.

Yours sincerely
