Christ's Celebrates Best A Levels Yet
Huge smiles and celebration were the order of the day at Christ’s School this morning as students and staff celebrated their best A level results yet. Bucking the national trend, Christ’s saw an increase in top grades with over 24% of students achieved A*/A grades, 59% gained A*-B grades and an overall pass rate of 100%. There was success across all subjects with English Literature, Mathematics, Chemistry and Computer Science achieving over one-third A*-A grades.
All Christ’s Sixth Form students have secured places at their chosen universities - with one-third off to top Russell Group universities. Thowid Ahmed was delighted with his 2 A*s and an A and is heading off to UCL to study Computer Science. “I’m delighted that all of my hard work and the fantastic support from the teaching staff at Christ’s has paid off and I’m looking forward to the next step in my education”. Danyal Ahmad with an A* and 2 As is off to Durham to study Natural Sciences and Emelie Ljungdahl with three As is off to Birmingham to study Medicine.
Commenting on the results, Matthew Morris, Head of Sixth Form at Christ's School said "I would like to congratulate all of our students. We are thrilled with their achievements. These results are a credit to our students’ hard work, the quality and commitment of all of our staff and the strong relationships that exist between our students and staff".
Helen Dixon, Headteacher at Christ’s School, applauded the efforts of the students, staff and Sixth Form team who have worked so hard to ensure this year’s success. Looking to the future, she said, ‘We are delighted that, contrary to national results, our top grades have continued to improve, maintaining our year on year upward trajectory.‘
